Strength came of me in soliturde,
Strength came to me in quietness,
Strength came to me away from the crowds.

Away from the crowds of the city,
I found peace and quiet,
Within this peace and quiet,
     I found God.

Strength came to me
by the still waters,
Strength came to me
in the peace of nature.

Strength came to me because
I took the time out in prayer
and..God smiled, I felt blessed.

author's note: I was widowed at 54
and found solice in prayer and found
time, tears and talk heal grief. And if
there was no one around to talk
writing poetry helped.

About the Poet
Born on October 24, 1939, I was one of seven children. I am now a mother of seven grown children, grandmother of 18, widow, and writer for the past 50 years mostly poetry. Day care provider of many years, now retired. Three poetry books published, but no longer in print, several little poem books self published. Published in local newspapers, several magazines and daily devotionals. My faith, family and writing poetry has brought me thus far.
