When There's No Understanding

When There's No Understanding

When there's no understanding for those crying tears
Remember there's a God who always hears
And there's never a night that comes into view
But that our God is still watching over you
How many heartaches is it going to take
How many more times before your heart will break
For God's the Therapist of the open door
Open twenty-four seven for your heart to restore

What's holding you back from a forward advance
Remember He's the God of the second chance
Just an honest prayer...Lord I'm asking of You
I know I'm missing something...Lord is it You?
I can't put my finger on the problem now
But it keeps happening all the time anyhow
I'm constantly in a state of confusion Lord
And that it keeps boggling my mind I can ill afford

Well God Yòu're the only thing that's been constant on my mind
Help me to keep you front and centre and leave all other thoughts behind
Although it's already evening God I haven't given You the time of day
Draw me closer to You Lord and help me learn to pray
I have some friends and family who I know still pray for me
They haven't given up on praying Lord and I've no one to thank but Thee
So here I am in my valley of decision Lord help me to make You my choice
For if there's anything at all worth listening to I know that it is Your voice!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
