What Saving Power Of Jesus Christ

What saving power of Jesus Christ
For sinner's He has come
To give us victory over death
And lead us safely home
We shall have trials and tribulations
We are not immune from such
But in their midst He gives more grace
To prove He loves us much

We don't have all the answers now
Nor all the reasons why
When visitations of various situations
Greet us bye and bye
But in my God I still will trust
For He cares for His own
And will keep that promise of His Word
I will never leave you alone

I thank You Father for Your favor
For mercy., grace and love
And bestowing on me a peacefulness
That the world knows nothing of
And in my heart a gentle Spirit
To minister in my grief
A Comforter to come alongside
And to give me sure relief

I lift my eyes unto You Lord
You know my heart's desire
To give You thanks in everything
Even in life's trying hour
For you have my best interest at heart
Even though I may not see
What saving power of Jesus Christ
Still rests that thought in me!

Lord You are magnified in my praise
For worthy is the Lamb
Who brought to me eternal life
Through Him the great I Am
And gives me fresh a daily look
At so great Salvation's theme
The Son has come to seek and to save
All praise be to His name!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
