I Labour

Justa thinking!

It is amazing when you are doing some jobs and you keep thinking that it's way earlier than what it really Is...that's a great feeling for sure!...well today it happened that way again....reminds me of that verse in the bible where it says..the night cometh when no man can work...work is such a gifted privilege that God has blessed us with...and to do it in the joy of the Lord...so as unto the Lord...this is a blessing for sure...thank you Lord!

I labour as unto the Lord
It is not work to me
But labouring joyfully in each job
My Lord enabling me
Here a little...there a little
Senior's bits and pieces
Just a little more time to do
Is definitely one of my wishes

On my list of things to do
That is if I can remember
Because if I don't write them down
They're in the lower number
My wife helping me knock them off
She has her list as well
When she's just about had her fill
Her facial expressions tell

Actually she's too a happy camper
The joy of the Lord her strength
She keeps plugging merrily away
As the days turn into length
Nothing beats a team of partners
Who are delighting in their Lord
All labour is such a simple task
For that " you can take our word! "

God has blessed us over the years
Our health is hanging in there
Aches and pains a common thing
While we spend our time here
But joy trumps these little things
A small bit of discomfort
Our eyes are focused on that One
As we await the sound of the trumpet!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
