What A Saviour To Celebrate

What A Saviour To Celebrate

What a Saviour to celebrate
And I can do it without hesitation
For I have a great God who loves me so
And has provided a so great Salvation
This world has not an offering
That comes anywhere near to Christ
The Light of the world who paid sins penalty
Has become our Supreme Sacfifice!

Talk about freedom!...We've got it!
Thanks to the lover of our soul
Who can forgive and cleanse any heart
I know it!..For I've been made whole
Praise God I found out I was a sinner
So Salvation was available to me
And when I truly repented of it
I met the Man of Calvary!

Then talk about that celebration!
When the Spirit bore witness to mine
I was redeemed...set free and forgiven
I'll tell ya it sure was sublime
Showered with the blessings of Heaven
It sure made a difference in me
All pride was dispelled as I humbled myself
And I thanked God for Calvary!

He is the reason to celebrate
For He came to save sinner's as such
He loves you just as you are my friend
Let Him give your life His own touch
His Word reveals His love for you
Taste and see that the Lord is Good
Then enjoy the celebration of Salvation with us
Saved sinner's enjoying sainthood!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
