Holy Spirit Come Visit Us0

Holy Spirit Come Visit Us

Holy Spirit come visit us

And tarry in our midst

Do a work of grace in hearts

That will alter how we live

May we give Highest recognition of

The God who made this world

Of the wonderful love of Jesus Christ

 Established in His Word

The deaf man heard, the blind man saw

The woman at the well rejoiced

The lame man walked...then leaped praising God

What power in the Master's voice

He is calling for you today

He knows the cry of your heart

Ask Him in...He will come willingly

 And He never shall depart

 Holy Spirit come visit us

Work in us a Godly fear

Help us to recognize the fact

 We are just pilgrims here

As God breathed life into man

He just as easily can take it away

Be ye reconciled to God my friend

 Seek ye the Lord today

To watch a soul outside of Christ

 Trying to find their way

Using harmful resources at hand

To make it through their day

The night comes back in hauntingness

Dear God what have I done!

But when morning comes the routines back The same old's again begun

Lord bring a change to lonely heart's

For there's not a Friend like You

Who can forgive the vilest of sin

Who can make a life brand new

 Hallelujah what a Saviour

 Yearning to welcome us Home

Lord we await Your working in us

 Holy Spirit come!

 Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
