He's Counting On Us

He's Counting On Us

He's counting on us to bring the Word
So that others will believe
To share the gospel relationalshiply
To those who've never heard
Of the love of God in Christ
Who gives joy to sorrowful hearts
And offering forgiveness upon repentance
Praise God for brand new starts

Nothing like a new life in Christ
Which to some may seem redundant
But to us who enjoy so great a Salvation
We are living a life more abundant
And sins that have been rolled away
Buried in the deepest sea
No longer are they a burden to us now
For His Spirit gives liberty

What a gospel we have to share
Eternal in its value
If you're not living in His depths of grace
Then your living is very shallow
Get a grip upon your soul
And the soul as well of another
Mother, father, enemy, friend
Every sister and brother

There's life in a look at the Crucified one
That Lamb for sinner's slain
Our only hope for a heavenly habitation
Is to trust in His precious name
What other offer is there on the table
Death has no other Conqueror as He
Remember when the stone was rolled away
All that were present there
 found it empty

So glory in that precious name
Who still has miracle working power
Who can change the vilest of hearts
This moment...this very hour
The best of heaven was in our midst
Don't miss out on knowing Him
Who offers us grace so profusely
Grace greater than all of our sin!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
