Waiting To Be Discovered

Waiting to be discovered lies the treasure in the Word
The hidden man of Christ upon its pages
The healing power of love in the forgiveness for our sin
A foundation of faith in the Rock of Ages
Miracle upon miracle exposed in humanness
Lame men walking...blind men seeing...Lazarus raised from the dead
Why with just two loaves and a few fishes at one gathering
Above five thousand men and women miraculously were fed

This was the true Messiah walking amongst His people
He came unto His own and His own received Him not
The woman at the well found in Him true forgiveness
Believe me when I tell you that that meeting was not soon forgot
He took a group of fishermen and made them fish for men
That tells me sure the true worth of a soul
Our Lord had a single purpose and in it was steadfast
To take a unrighteous sinner and make him completely whole

I pray you get an appetite to check this Saviour out
There's a great Physician at our near disposal
On twenty four hour call He's alert as all get out
He's offered your soul's Salvation as a firm proposal
Why neglect an opportunity when there's none  else to compare
He arose! He arose! He arose! Hallelujah Christ lives!
Our great God and Saviour...our Lord Jesus Christ
Praise God the Holy Spirit to repentant sinners He gives!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
