In a While
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By Michael P. Johnson
Other Poems by Michael P. Johnson

              In a While

While few believe the virgin birth

Believe Christ died in pain

Believe no man can rise from earth

With Jesus Christ to reign

Yet in a while The Truth we’ll see

When sceptics feel the sword

When they who’ve humbly bowed their knee

Claim Jesus’ just reward

In just a while ere time’s at end

When gone has God’s elect

We’ll see on what those fooled depend

Who Heaven’s Lamb reject

Then in a while when time’s no more

When death has come to sin

The Truth will open wide a door

For each to walk within

Within a while we’ll see His face

The Judge of flesh and bone

Those born again set free by grace

And those with hearts of stone

We’ll see The Truth with open eyes

We’ll drink of life that’s real

Though most will have a sad surprise

When Heaven’s wrath they feel

Within a while will dawn the day

When facts are finally bought

“If I’d believed,” the fool will say

“In Jesus’ true report”

There is no death at Jesus’ feet

Forever we’ll wear a smile

When we in Christ live life complete

In just a little while..…

       In a Little While

In just a while the world will see

God’s verdict to the test

Life’s crown to those The Lamb set free

And hell for all the rest

In just a while when God repays

To each His just reward

The bride will reign eternal days

The rest will feel the sword

In just a while when all is done

We’ll see who’s right and wrong

Who live and die without God’s Son

Singing the devil’s song

We’ll see the sheep with second birth

Who’ve sought The Way on high

Denying self whilst here on earth

Without fear to die

It’s hard the knee of lust to bow

Afflictions may increase

Although it’s not all roses now

Within a while there’s peace

As promised to each child reborn

The few life’s test have passed

As bride of Christ we’ll see life’s dawn

So says The First & Last

No child of Light will see the grave

No sheep of Jesus’ fold

The Shepherd rose from death to save

And bring us joy untold

A share with Christ, once death has lost

Once sickness finds its end

When finally the bridge we’ve crossed

We’ll see our Lord and friend..…

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
