Return to God

Return to God

Your walk with Christ feels awfully long

You need more breath to sing life’s song

Your hands hang limp down at your side

Can’t count the times each day you’ve cried

Visits to church grow less and less

Your empty life’s so full of stress

The light received has now grown dim

As once the love you felt for Him

You feel alone no friend in sight

Your life’s now dark without God’s Light

Your troubled heart is full of pain

You need God’s Son to touch again

It’s on your knees; you’ll beat the foe

With heart and soul say God hello

The words will come when once you kneel

Speak forth in truth just how you feel

Who trust in God suffer no loss

No-more is Jesus on the cross

The Lord foretold again He’d rise

To vanquish sin and open eyes

Allow God’s Spirit come to you

His Holy Flame will make you new

You thought He’d come to you before

Though still He’s knocking at your door

God’s Truth can now be yours and mine

Salvation’s more than bread and wine

God’s Holy Ghost Promised on high

Will come to help one’s “self” to die

Return; through Christ walk in His might

Within His strength we’ll win the fight

The Flame once felt will God restore

With love that leads through Heaven’s door. ....

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
