Hinder No Child

Other Poems by Michael P. Johnson

† † † † † †Hinder no Child

When throughout earth religion reigned

When faith in truth was weak

When still so much laid unexplained

Most failed with God to speak

The world believed the devilís lies

Godís Word was less than rare

Latin, could read few servantís eyes

Righteous enough to share

No chant could bring Godís guiding Light

However sweet the tune

Nor could religion win lifeís fight

But only lead to ruin

A burden to the common man

A stumbling block to most

Failing to know Salvationís plan

Without The Holy Ghost

Few serfs would venture far from town

Blind shepherds multiplied

Ignorance widely wore her crown

And so in sin man died

Through ages dark and painful sore

Man played the devilís fool

Till God on ignorance went to war

Breaking satanic rule

The humble man learned how to read

He found The Truth first hand

The bible spoke of Christ Godís Seed

So plain to understand

This freedom brought the realm of Christ

Traditionís lost their place

Through finding Godís Lamb sacrificed

We know Salvationís graceÖ..

† ††††††††Encourage Them

Countless today still walk as blind

Seduced by Satanís charms

Proudly wearing religionís bind

Within traditionís arms

Receive The Light, whilst yet we may

To truth let no one frown

Cause none who come to turn away

Let Jesus wear His crown

Turn humble eyes to Christ alone

Let Christ His bride behold

Buy no more wares of flesh and bone

To whom the devilís sold

Now stumbling blocks are plainly seen

Manís doís and doníts abound

Hindering growth of Jesusí queen

Her walk to hallowed ground

When Christ alone is Lord and guide

His church will find release

Righteous serving as Jesusí bride

In love of fruit increase

The Lord can hear the humble pray

Whoís faith is in His Son

His quiet voice will show the way

Until lifeís war is won

Who faithful die whilst at their post

Who live to serve God true

The Father, Son & Holy Ghost

Will give them life anew

Eternal life through faith and trust

The Fatherís face weíll see

No more to live as moistened dust

But like Godís Son weíll be.....

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
