How Can I?
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

Other Poems by Michael P. Johnson

           How can I?

How can I serve the God I love?

Yet hide life’s light from high above

The world still blind must know as well

Heaven is true, but so is hell

How can I lead you to believe?

Devils will kill devils deceive

Yet God life’s grace and truth is found

Freeing each soul devils have bound

How can I bring you to understand?

No one’s too rich, no one’s too grand

We all may come and be received

In Christ who died tortured and grieved

How can I give what’s most profound?

Life’s great secrets in Jesus found

God’s truth is mine; I’ve found the way

To live sharing God’s light today

How can I show God’s one true way?

The Potter’s Christ! I am but clay

Vessels God makes his will to do

A pot like me a cup like you

How can I make one realize?

I know a place where no one dies

The road of truth is not too wide

To find life’s way, you’ll need a guide

How can I lead you to the guide?

The gift of God who’ll dwell inside

He’s come as guest! I’m now His host

Spirit with fire, God’s Holy Ghost

How can I give life’s righteous flame?

Who comes consuming filth and shame

He’s Heaven’s wind blowing now free

Just whisper “Jesus, come to me”.....

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
