It's Through the Blood.

     It's Through the Blood.

We think in church we’re safe in life

In death, we’ll rise on high

That man unsaved is not the wife

Of Him who came to die

It’s not enough to sing and pray

It’s not how much we know

It’s not how good we live today

Nor if to church we go

Before a marriage comes to stand

Before true love can bloom

Before her choice can take her hand

A bride should know her groom

To know of Christ is just the start

Let truth be understood

Knowledge alone can’t change one’s heart

We need to drink His blood

To drink! Life’s facts we need to see

The Truth; they lifted up

Visit God’s Lamb on Calvary’s tree

And richly fill our cup

Drink wisdom free as precious wine

God’s peace, His grace His love

Receive The Lamp that burns divine

His promised Holy Dove

Without; is no one born again

But naked, cold and dry

Needing The Christ is all too plain

In those who’ve feared to die

Personal; must Christ Jesus be

As King, as Lord as friend

God’s guiding hand keeping us free

Until the last day’s end…..

     Through Jesus' Blood

Cathedrals, churches, grandiose halls

We visit, pray and sing

May witness host of altar calls

Failing to change a thing

Some call to be The Saviour’s bride

As many oft before

Speaking about the Lamb who died

Who’s arms are Heaven’s Door

By grace; we’re saved in Jesus’ name

Made pure as virgin snow

Though still some come and leave the same

Failing The Truth to know!

It can’t be God we’re serving here

If Truth is not endowed

If still we fail The Lord to fear

And seek to please the crowd

We need to live and serve God well

Once eyes are made to see

When souls once lost, are saved from hell

When those yet bound are free

Through Jesus’ blood we’re truly bought

God’s will to do on earth

That flesh and bone’s factual taught

Leading to second birth

For some our courtship could be long

For others short and sweet

Yet all may sing the bridal song

Who while at Jesus’ feet

Our Groom will come as mighty Lord

As King enrobed with Flame

When Spirit and bride in one accord

Call out His awesome name…..

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
