The Keys

The Keys

When Adam broke Heaven’s decrees

Satan obtained life’s precious keys

Four thousand years we suffered loss

Till Jesus’ victory on the cross

God’s Lamb saw death but not the grave

Deep in the pit were souls to save

Satan surrendered on his knees

The son of man life’s precious keys

God’s sheep then knew they’d all be free

That Christ had come and take the key

Each held captive since Adam fell

Now redeemed from death and hell

Life’s keys secure in Jesus’ hand

The living Christ now walks the land

He’s God, He’s Spirit in no place bound

Heaven and earth He may be found

Through sinless blood flows life and love

For those with keys to rise above

Power received at Jesus’ feet

Makes the devil beat retreat

For all who have The Holy Ghost

Receive the keys once Satan’s boast

Though robbing, cheating, causing ill

Without life’s keys he cannot kill

Now man redeemed will never die

Life’s keys belong to you and I

To open doors and lock them too

For Jesus’ bride when born anew

Yet though God calls us all to serve

Many still duck others will swerve

Masses will fail to bow their knees

Just willing servants get the keys…..

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
