† † † † † † † Weeds (1)

Distractions that from God would turn

Would rob us of His peace

Must be to all of grave concern

And caused at once to cease

These are the weeds, the thorns and stones††††† Lk.8:5-15

Hindering holy lives

Crushing oneís spirit breaking bones

Killing like deadly knives

Weíve all had weeds from time to time

While some may yet remain

Causing to turn oneís life of crime

In search of worldly gain

Beware of all these stones and weeds

Lying concealed within

For are they not the devilís seed?

That grows to mortal sin?

Unless we dig them up and fight

Weíll toil with nothing done

We need to rise while still thereís light

And seek Godís faithful Son

But how; we ask is this to be?

How is a spirit fought?

How can our flesh, from weeds be free?

How is a demon caught?

In Christ assail, in Christ defend

The Truth; shows when and how

In Jesusí name, each knee must bend

And every head will bow

Demonic thorns that lead to shame

Through Christ, are plain to see

Fasting prayer in Jesusí name†††††††† ††††††††††††Mt.17:21

Will make these devilís flee.....

†††††††† Weeds (2)

Yet whoíll be rid our worldly cares?

Be healed of sin led pains?

Or do we love the devilís snares?

Seek comfort through his chains?

Are we displeased with evil things?

So lost in Satanís ways?

We dance, when ere he pulls our strings

Are we so blind these days?

Dig up, the stones that dim the eye

The weeds that cloud the mind

That lead to lust, to cheat and lie

That make Godís children blind

Dig up, the thorn filled barren ground

Begin the search inside

Wherever deadly weeds are found

Weíll bind them where they hide

Whilst breath is in the body still

In Christ itís not too late

Be quit of burdens that can kill

Be rid of selfish weight

But this may cause us hurt and pain

May cause to cry and groan

Yet if we want lifeís autumn rain†††††††††††††† Jas.5:7

We must be rid of stone

In rocky fields, itís light to sow

But awfully hard to till

The stones divert Godís liquid flow

While weeds receive their fill

Yet still we hold lifeís burdens tight

Refuse to let them go

Itís hard through stones to see the Light

And so will it the foeÖ..

†††††††††††† Weeds (3)

The devil too has planted seed

Amidst The Fatherís wheat

On evil thoughts it loves to feed

And thrive on gross deceit

Down deep inside they lie in wait

Pretending not to be!

But on occasion, lust or hate

May rise for all to see

Till then, they hide beneath the earth

Inside oneís flesh and bone

Each evil thought, could swiftly birth

A heart of hardened stone

When this in truth we understand

Itís time to turn to God

In Christ, to clean, to plough the land

And turn up rock and† sod

Rip out the roots, each evil weed

Allow no stone remain

So God may sow His righteous seed

And send His precious rain†††††††††††††††††††††† Jas.5:7

From self, no thorn will fade away

No stone, will turn to dust

But if we wield Godís sword today

Theyíll fall with every thrust

If in true faith, we doubt each doubt

We smile, where others frown

Thereís not a stone we canít cast out

No weed, we canít cut down

Upon the heap theyíll meet the flame

As refuse, each will die

While rain to us in Jesusí name

With love will pour from highÖ..

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
