          Forgive this Absentee.

“Oh Lord, forgive this absentee –Eze.37:23

Allow me seek Your face –2Ch.7:14

Accept this prayer on bended knee –Mal.3:4

Before Your throne of grace –Heb.4:16

 

I know my God I’ve let You down –Da.9:5

I know I’ve done You wrong –Ps.51:4

Just like a fool I played the clown –Lk.15:13

And grieved You with my song –Lk.23:41

 

I left the plough a little while –Lk.9:62

But oh my God the pain –Ps.38:17-18+Isa.26:16-21

If you’d allow me reconcile –2Co.5:20-21

I’ll never leave again –Lk.15:32

 

Forgive the evil things I’ve done –Jer.33:6-9

Purge free my wicked mind –Ro.8:6

I slapped the face of Christ Your Son –Lk.22:63

Through sin that made me blind –Heb.6:6+2Co.4:4

 

Now just like Paul who’d lost his sight –Ac.9:8

Nebuchadnezzar too –Da.5:34-

Through suffering, I’ve seen The Light –Isa.26:9

And know what I must do –Isa.48:17

 

I must reveal my source of shame –Hos.5:15

Must rid myself of sin –1Co.5:7-8

For this; my God I need Your Flame –1Co.3:13

The Holy Ghost within –Mt.3:11+Lk.3;16

 

This time I’ll serve no god but You! –Deut.5:7

I’ve seen the devil’s lies –Isa.26:13

So now my God I’ll stay You true –Jn.15:4-10

Until this body dies –2Pe.1:13-14

 

Lord free me from this lonesome jail –Ps.68:6

Please cause this void to cease –Lk.16:26

You take no joy when children fail –2Sa.14:14

Lord please restore Your peace” –Jn.14:27+Isa.26:3-…..

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
