Permitted Seems Everything.....
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 2 times

Other Poems by Michael P. Johnson

To man God gave ten sacred rules

To learn to live and thrive

But still, we walk as blind lost fools

Hopeless to survive

Through deadly sin through filthy shame

God’s wrath is multiplied

So this is why Christ Jesus came

And this is why He died

He loves the world and all within

But filth! He can’t abide

So who repent who’ll turn from sin

May in His presence hide

We lie we cheat we steal we kill

Blaspheme The Lord our God

Reject His Son defy His will

And fear no more the rod

It seems, permitted is everything

Nothing is too obscene

Satanic songs we dare to sing

Yet none may intervene

God’s Word finds less and less respect

We see it day by day

Politically it’s incorrect

And in the world passé

Men marry men in churches now

And women do the same

But which of them to Jesus bow

Acknowledging their shame

How cunningly the foe will fight

How subtle his deceit

Even his lies are painted white

To thwart The Lord’s elite….

It does grow harder to live out a life that belongs to Christ Jesus, to be gentle, loving, yet not judgmental. Your poem, and especially that last verse is oh so true. May God bless you!

The above poem is highly elegant in its poetic frame work. Congratulations. Stay blessed.

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
