In Church Unsaved
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

          In Church Unsaved

We go to church and think we’re saved

For years believe life’s won

We’ve lived sweet lives so well behaved

Yet all without God’s Son

How tragic still we sit and think

In church as finest wheat

Yet Jesus’ blood we’ve failed to drink

His saving flesh to eat

“Oh yes I’m saved” we smile and boast

“I’m saved by grace on high”

Though no one fools The Holy Ghost

However hard we try

Without God’s Spirit in one’s soul

If Christ’s not Lord within

There’s no mistake, we re not made whole

We’re walking dead in sin

However harsh the facts may sound

The humble! Christ can see

With contrite heart, salvation’s found

Repentant on bended knee

I know too well what some yet say

I too thought Truth was mine

I thought in church I’d found The Way

Partaking bread and wine

I paid my tithes, praised God in song

I knew the leaders well

In knowledge, none could prove me wrong

No way was I for hell

Religion is the devil’s tool

The liar’s out to kill

He’s come to steal to cheat and fool

The pit of hell to fill..…

No deed can earn The Father’s grace

New birth no gold can buy

No other way we’ll see God’s face

Without The Lamb on high

Yet in the pews we still pretend

Continue to conceal

Our secret lusts we still defend

In Satan’s chains we kneel

God can’t be bribed nor Heaven bought

Deceit we fail to hide

Our sweetest words count less than nought

Without God’s Son inside

But when we come to Calvary hill

God’s Lamb upon the tree

We’ll see Salvation’s perfect will

God’s Truth setting us free –Jn.8:36

There’s no more time to fool around

To Christ we must be true

Life’s narrow way must now be found

Man must be born anew –Jn.3:3

Alone God’s Lamb can save from hell –Jn.14:6

Change lives on Zion hill

We need to seek Salvation’s Well –Isa.12:3

And there to drink our fill

Let no one come with vain conceit

Let no one tell you lies

Life’s facts alone at Jesus’ feet –Jn.15:5

Can make us strong and wise

It’s not by might nor works we do –Zec.4:6

Its not how hard we try

But by God’s grace are saved the few

Who’ll reign with Christ on high…..

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
