Coloured Garments

No matter where on earth we go

Always thereís someone wants to know

If Jesusí flock is truly free

What colour have His sheep to be?

Some fail in church while others sink

Could it be the way they think?

Their deeds are fine and yet they sin

Casting eyes on anotherís skin

Each night I pray beside my bed

For those in Christ whoís skin is red

They know Iím here they know I care

I know Godís love and long to share

I love my brother whoís face is black

I also know he loves me back

The things he needs for life on earth

I pray to God for all Iím worth

I pray my God would shine His Light

Upon all those whoís skins are white

Although perhaps we live apart

Christís wondrous love will touch their heart

My brotherís skinís a shade of brown

He prays for me when I feel down

In turn I pray though Christ above

To thank and bless them with His love

Yellow too is my Fatherís son

Both he and I in Christ are one

I show him love as brothers should

Iíd love him more if I just could

Regardless colour or which land

I count my brothers as the sand

I love each one as they love me

Thatís how in Christ we ďALLĒ should be..Ö

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
