          Behold the Pit

How terrible that day will be –Lk.16:22

When those condemned arise –Rev.20:11-15

When first they reach the flaming sea –Rev.19:20

And open wide their eyes

 

When grace has closed love’s welcome hand –Heb.12:14-17

When hope’s forever lost –Pr.11:7

When far too late they’ll understand –Gen.7:12,22

Of Jesus’ painful cost

 

No crumb to eat no drop to drink –Lk.16:24

No salve to ease the pain –Job.3:21-26

Undying though they’ll have to think –Jude 7

When torment comes to reign –Lk.16:28

 

When selfish lust has run it’s course –Ro.2:8

When seas and mountains flee –Lk.3:5+Rev.21:1

When hearts are torn in deep remorse –Mt.8:12

At Heaven’s sad decree –Job.27:8-10  

 

No word escapes to God on high

No comfort from the heat –Lk.16:25

In anguish, flesh will seek to die –Rev.6:16

When death has met defeat –1Co.15:26

 

To God their case can none defend –Job.38:1-41

Enrobed in crimson red –Isa.64:6

Their worm within will see no end –Mk.9:48

Where torture’s daily bread –Lk.16:23

 

This prophecy is plain to see -Deut.30:11-16

Not penned by flesh and bone –1Co.2:10-12

But Heaven breathed to set man free –Ps.146:7

And melt our heart of stone –Isa.57:15

 

Hell’s fire is no religious lie –1Co.2:1-16

Nor crafty bated snare –Isa.50:4

But facts from God before we die –Mt.24:26-44

For judgement to prepare –Am.4:12..…

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
