                    Dig

God’s Word is true;  life vein and hope     Ps.130:5

His name alone makes whole                     Ac.3:1-10

Spiritual Fire and Launder Soap                Mal.3:2

Cleanses the heart and soul

Like living streams it flows within            Jn.7:38

Deep pools from Christ The Lord

It’s Liquid Light, revealing sin                  1Co.28:9

Salvation’s two-edged sword                    Heb.4:12

Wait not for man, that he should teach     1Jn.2:27

Take self, to hand God’s book

Life’s water’s there for all to reach

We only need to look                                Gen.26:32

God’s flowing Word is what we need

No man can quench such thirst

But ere we drink, or come to feed

A well; we must dig first

Rivers will dry great lakes will sink

Famine will reign through drought               Am.8:11-13

What’s left to do when nought’s to drink?

When no more rain’s about                          1Ki.17:1-

When stagnant waters start to smell       1Ki.17:7

When barren grows the land

We need to do dig ourselves a well        Jn.4:10-14

And reach beneath the sand

To dig for Truth, we need no spade         Isa.12:3

Through Christ; we quench our thirst    1Ki.17:7-16

With verbal gold life’s richly paid         1Ki.17:14

With knowledge, reimbursed                  Eph.1:17

Until life’s doors are plain to see

Till safe from death and hell                   Ex.15:22-26

We need God’s Word to set us free       Isa.12:3

We need Salvation Well..…

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
