There's More to Christ
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By Michael P. Johnson
Other Poems by Michael P. Johnson

       There’s more to Christ

There’s more to Christ than first appears

We hear The Truth but nothing clears

Yet those who have His Precious Seal

The Holy Ghost will all reveal

There’s more to Christ than many see

To Heaven’s door He is the Key

He’s King of peace, Salvation’s Spring

The Song of life love’s offering

There’s more to Christ than first we think

He’s God’s own Son life’s Cup to drink

The Living Bread from Heaven high

Partake of Him and never die

There’s more to Christ than what we read

He’s God, He’s man, Jehovah’s Seed

Life’s Cornerstone, The Rock of old

Grand Shepherd of The Father’s fold

There’s more to Christ than yet we know

He’s life’s eternal source and flow

Consuming Fire, God’s quiet voice

To life or death the ultimate choice

There’s more to Christ than meets the eye

The Sharon’s Rose that none can buy

He’s Life He’s Light, Truth to conceive

In those by faith and grace believe

There’s more to Christ if one would look

As daily bread within “The Book”

The Author of truth, life’s guiding Light

Who’s tongue alone will win the fight

There’s more to Christ than first we hear

To know Him, must His name revere

Give to His Father everything

Till Christ returns your crown to bring....

About the Poet
I never wrote a word of poetry in my life. Till the day Jesus took my hand and touched my soul.....I invite your response. However most poems are not about me! Very few are. But the feed-back good, bad or indifferent is always desired. Not meant to offend, but I write about many things in many a guise. Of life, death, lost, found, saved, backsliders, new comers, repenting souls, doubting hearts, heathens, Christians, fire, water, Satan's daughter, wallowing in sin, saved, made sound walking in Light, graceful righteous. Suffering, ecstatic, bored, excited, sad, delighted, Sick, well, lame, able, living, dying, etc. etc. etc. Writing about anything, everything and everyone as the spirit leads. All meant to reveal, waken, revive, encourage, shame, help. Gladden, pick up, exalt, portrait, liberate. Again over 99% of my work is not about me. Although at times I write as though I were or am. Speaking e.g. in the first person. This is quite common even in the bible itself. Prophets speak of themselves, then God speaks, again the prophet, then God......Quite often it's difficult to distinguish whom it is that at any given time is speaking or narrating.
