America the Beautiful
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By Connie Hinnen Cook
Other Poems by Connie Hinnen Cook

In this hour of trouble,
In this hour of need;
God, please bless America,
America, Godspeed.

In this day when young and old
Blaspheme Jesus' Name;
America, the Beautiful?
America, for shame!

In this day of "banning God"
Self-worship, self-love;
Lord, how saddened You must be,
Watching from above.

In this day of "know your rights"
New drugs and old hates;
Lord, please save us from ourselves ~
The "United" States.

--Connie

"If My people, which are called by My Name,
shall humble themselves, and pray,
and seek My face,
and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from Heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land."
(II Chronicles 7:14, KJV)

About the Poet
IN MEMORIAM I'm just a servant of the Lord that wants to magnify Him through poetry, and to cause others to focus on Him.
