It's just around the corner,
the year 2003 ~
I pray the good Lord blesses us,
but it just seems to me...
We've kicked Him out of classrooms
and banned His Word in schools,
To please the god of Tolerance
we've played the part of fools.

And some of us have carelessly
been wise in our own eyes,
We can take the Lord for granted...
we CAN'T take Him by surprise.
His prophets all have warned us
but their cries have gone unheard ~
America the Beautiful
is not found in His Word.

If we're still on the playing field
when God closes the game,
We're not found in the Holy Book,
we're not mentioned by name.
Like wayward sheep, we've gone astray,
shrugged-off His strong right hand;
We've blasphemed Him and brought a curse
upon this mighty land.

We've pushed the envelope so far
we may have sealed our fate...
America the Beautiful?
America the Late?!
God's given us the best of Him,
we've given Him much sorrow...
2003 may prove He loves us
like there's no tomorrow.

and they shall reap the whirlwind..."

About the Poet
IN MEMORIAM I'm just a servant of the Lord that wants to magnify Him through poetry, and to cause others to focus on Him.
