No One Else

No One Else

Squeeze my toothpaste from the middle,
Interrupt me with a riddle,
Who can play me like a fiddle?
No one else, sweetheart, but you.

Who do I bake birthday cakes for,
Overlook those past mistakes for,
Only one my poor heart breaks for,
No one else, sweetheart, but you.

No one else my door unlocks for,
Steps outside that 4-square box for,
Scrubs tub-rings and dirty socks for,
No one else, sweetheart, but you.

No one else can kiss me, honey,
Waste my time and spend my money,
Walk my turtle, pat my bunny,
No one else, sweetheart, but you.

You outrank the world's great lovers,
Movers, shakers, pushers, shovers,
You can always hog my covers,
No one else, sweetheart, but you.

Brand my name upon your seat,
Carved in stone and dried concrete,
Without you I'm incomplete,
No one else, sweetheart, but you.

You alone, my nightmare-chaser,
Problem-facer, tears-eraser,
Only you, my main embracer,
No one else, sweetheart, but you.

-Connie-

"How fair is thy love...my spouse!
how much better is thy love than wine!"
(Solomon's Song 4:10, KJV)

About the Poet
IN MEMORIAM I'm just a servant of the Lord that wants to magnify Him through poetry, and to cause others to focus on Him.
