A Thought for Easter

A Thought for Easter

And He kneeled down,
and prayed, saying...
"Father, if Thou be willing,
remove this cup from Me:
nevertheless not My will,
but Thine, be done."
(Luke 22:42 KJV)

Had Christ refused to bear the cross
And fill the Father's plan,
Perhaps a new way could have been
Prepared for fallen man.
Yet Jesus chose to set aside

Earth's trappings that would bind,
And He alone is worthy now
Saviour of all mankind.
Throughout the ages He will be
Eternal Sovereign Lord,
Rejoicing for eternity

...He chose Heaven's reward!

--Connie

"Looking unto Jesus
the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before Him
endured the cross, despising the shame,
and is set down at the right hand
of the throne of God."
(Hebrews 12:2 KJV)

About the Poet
IN MEMORIAM I'm just a servant of the Lord that wants to magnify Him through poetry, and to cause others to focus on Him.
