Misplaced Apology
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

By Connie Hinnen Cook
Other Poems by Connie Hinnen Cook

Forgive me, Lord,
For grieving You,
'Twas such
A stupid thing to do...
I yelled at him
And saw him wince,
And haven't felt
Your presence since.

My words
Cut through him
Like a sword...
I'm sorry now,
Forgive me, Lord.

With gentle words
God chided me:
"O, child of Mine,
Do you not see?
Before My peace
Can comfort thee,
Apologize
To *him*,
Not Me."

--Connie

"Admit your faults to one another...
so that you may be healed."
(James 5:16, LB)

About the Poet
IN MEMORIAM I'm just a servant of the Lord that wants to magnify Him through poetry, and to cause others to focus on Him.
