Willow

                Willow

The wind blew hard. A howling gale.
Willow bent but never fell.
Sand and that from ocean's depth
drew closer, closer, by water swept.
Then came the sight of shattered wood
around the spot where Willow stood.
Lightning flashed and thunder rolled
as warm air battled with that cold.
A limb, some bark, was torn away,
but in life and trial willow stayed.
For at long last and by design,
like hope and love restores the mind.
Sunshine and warmer breeze did flow
from sky now clear to Willow.
And as they touched a weathered form
a branch did wave farewell to storm.
