           Growing  Up...

was a time filled with adventure
in a place of comfort for the soul.
It was a time most would say was hard
but faith always reached out to hold.
It was a time when the playground
was the distance one did roam.
It was a time when the safest place
was there with Mom and Dad at home.
It was a time when God was everywhere
and in prayer was thanked for everything.
It was a time when taught in Sunday school
Jesus Loves Me is the song to sing.
It was a time of constant learning.
A time of love shown true.
It was a time of feeling all was well
before and after the day was through.
Yes it was a time of life
filled with all these things.
And because of what it was and is
a heart can soar upon hope's wings.

59 and holding. Married to the love of my life for 35 years. We are a Christian family with 3 grown kids and a hard headed chihuahua named Peppy. I enjoy writing poetry and hope it brings a smile or maybe even uplifts a little.
