Eastern Sky

           Eastern Sky

Sitting in quiet contemplation

about this coming year.

Wondering about the future.

Will it bring sadness mixed with fear?

Will the world come to an end?

That's what some do say.

Will we see our dearest friend?

Will Jesus be there on New Year's day?

In that eastern sky.

The Bible says to live each day

as if our Lord is coming then.

To rise and shine in constant hope

of God's Son coming back again.

And so in quiet contemplation

about this coming year.

Thoughts are dismissed about a future

of sadness mixed with fear.

For even if the world should end.

As some do say.

I trust we'll see our dearest friend.

And feel His glory light the way.

To an eternal eastern sky.
