Pictures

Pictures hanging on the wall.

Images frozen in time.

Each can touch a special place.

Within both heart and mind.

Some from times of long ago.

Others just the other day.

The eyes linger on each one.

As each has so much to say.

Like the two seated close together.

Dressed in their Sunday best.

Features etched by life.

And love that passed each test.

Hushand and wife. Mom and Dad.

Emotion's come that never die.

A longing to have them here again.

Yet accepting God knows best and why.

For when the pictures on a wall

stir that sense of loss within.

The spirit sees beyond today, and knows,

they are alive and well with Him.

About the Poet
