           The Image

Upon that hill of long ago

an image burned into the mind.

The image that's withstood it all,

even the test of time.

This image turns the heart of man

from self to that above.

An image of God's only Son

on cruel display for love.

Who can read The Word that's written

of the torture and the shame?

And not be moved to cry out, Father!

Forgive Oh Lord in Jesus' name.

For it was not His crimes then done

that placed our Savior on the Cross.

No. He was perfection in the flesh.

I Am had come to pay sin's cost.

Who can know the mind of God?

Who can measure a love so grand?

Jesus knew for love was measured

when Abba, Father, took His hand.

And He rose from the grave.
