Fruits of a Godly Life

Fruits of a Godly Life

Matthew five, three thru’ five - the roots of godly life.
Those are the distinguishing signs.
What if I had a harvest of peace in this strife -
Every day in all times and climes.

Do I have compassion and help - actually?
A heart that’s tender cares and acts,
Picturing my High Priest – His love – factually.
A love that’s real and “without wax.”

The image that God loves, this He will multiply.
He wants mercy, not sacrifice.
When we act in true mercy, His Grace He’ll supply.
One blind eye - deaf ear will suffice.

Let us remember that we needed forgiveness.
God remembers that we are dust.
Let’s care about people and how awful life gets-
Salvation’s story tell to the crushed.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
