Free and Focused

Paul certainly lived an extraordinary life!

He deserves the title, “Outstanding.”

His life was truly focused… yet trouble was rife,

Time, patience, prayer, from Him demanding.

Some of the greatest people have great memory;

Yet, many things I need to forget,

Need to erase it away as with emery,

Wrongs of the past with which I’m beset.

Show me, as my heart can bear it, just what I’m like.

Free me from all the wrongs I have done,

As Your forgiveness in the New Covenant strikes.

With God my focus, new year’s begun!

My greatest crime… living as if God isn’t there.

Love means keeping no record of wrongs.

Help me, Lord, to show Your love to all ev’rywhere.

You’re my real Parent, my Song of songs.

Half hearted belief… uncomfortable, useless…

I press on in this race toward the goal

Of knowing Christ… living as He wills is success!

Secure in Him and focused, there’s joy in my soul!
