As I Sit Here Thinking

As I sit her thinking,
Remember me, Jesus,
As you did the thief on the cross.
From life I would not be shrinking
May I produce gold  - not dross.

As I sit here thinking,
Remember me, Jesus.
I’m old and feeling aches and pains.
That’s not awful as it could be.
I could count just loss or gains.

As I sit here thinking,
Remember me, Jesus.
Please give me Your perfect wisdom.
Then teach me to use it wisely,
A heuristic rule of thumb.

As I sit here thinking,
Remember me, Jesus
And teach me to win others, too.
Love through me as long as I live.
May I bring lost souls to You.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
