Autumn, Winter, Spring

Autumn - Winter - Spring

I looked outside on Labor Day.
The top of the Maple was red.
Isn’t that early - so I thought.
Is Summer time early to bed?

Then it rained and weather turned hot.
Turning colors on trees slowed down.
Did God reach out His hand ,  say stop?
The reds and yellows will come ‘round.

Creation never does it wrong.
God causes change completely right.
Soon trees will shed all pretty leaves.
Soon bare branches will greet our sight.

Autumn, up North, has been quite hot
Thanks to those hurricanes so wild.
Soon we’ll don jackets or sweaters
And hope for a Winter that’s mild.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

It’s been five months since I wrote that.
Snow has come, gone, then come again.
Winter seems long around these parts.
I’ll watch for crocus blooms, then rain.
