Learn to be Still

Do I really need have a brain,
Even talk to other people?
We plug in earphones now again
Sit side by side, don’t even talk.

The basic skill to walk with God
Is being lost - we don’t know it.
Replaced by these devices mod,
Earphones, I-pods, and our two thumbs.

In our modern world, times of prayer,
Faith in God, obedience, trust
Is what we need -  to learn to care.
Unplug that phone, learn to be still.

This century needs salt and light
Not another text on their phones.
Think about that with all your might.
Be still and know that He is God.

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
