Lazy Days of Summer?

Lazy Days of Summer?

There’s a song called “Lazy, Crazy Days of Summer”
Must have been written for children
When stay-at-home Mothers were many in number,
Made simple toys and no villains.

There were some days we could wade in that winding creek
While parents worked hard on the farm.
We did not know words like freak or geek, tweak or clique,
Had no need for smoke alarms.

The kids who lived in town told a diff’rent story.
They rode bikes to a store for cola,
Candy - thought better than the farm category
Or cereal called granola.

Now teens, parents have jobs - young ones in day camps.
It’s a completely diff’rent  world.
Telling all the changes can give one writer’s cramp.
Now -  texting and computer world.

So - lazy days of Summer ?   Well, once in a while.
