Go My Own Way?

Go My Own Way?

When the spies told of giants in the land
To which God had told them to go,
They said "we" seven times - God's Word says so.
Do we do that in response to commands?

There are many more possibilities,
And all the "what ifs" we can find,
All the "ifs" and "buts" we can bring to mind.
Get right down to it - they're frivolities.

Caleb and Joshua trusted in God.
They turned to Him in confidence.
"The Lord is with us," and we shall go hence.
We'll follow directions and claim this sod.

Should I follow God or go on my own?
Which is the wisest decision?
Trust God and face the world's sure derision?
Eternally, God's love has been made known.

I'll follow Him - not spin out of control.

Psalm 86:11

About the Poet
I asked Jesus to be my Savior when I was 11 - that was almost 70 years ago as of June 2015. My husband and I had been married for 54 years as of March 2010 before he went Home to Heaven, and we have one son & daughter in law and 3 grandchildren.
