Wear White All Year

White clothes from Easter ‘til Labor Day

Has been the rule in the U.S.A.

It was seen as a fashion blunder -

Wearing white shoes stood out like thunder.

Man-made rules are many’s main concern.

By following them they think to earn

An honored place in society.

Religion may call it piety.

The Holy Bible gives God’s commands.

They’re not the rules made by finite man’s

Thinking and planning here on the earth.

His Holy Word is of matchless worth.

God offers salvation full and free.

Fathomless love, deeper than the sea,

Yours for the asking…no other way

Has been provided, your debt to pay.

Put on your spiritual shoes, to boot;

The complete “look” lets His Word take root.

The Shield deflects all satan’s arrows.

God protects and clothes even sparrows.

Walk in white, symbol of purity;

His sacrifice will be your surety.

His death, resurrection surely shows

We shall walk with Him in pure white clothes.

In the words of an old Gospel song: “When He shall come resplendent in His glory, To take His own from out this vale of night, O may I know the joy of His appearing, Only at morn to walk with Him in white.”
