Crucify Him
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

                Crucify Him

There used to be three wooden crosses
and on a hill they stood.
On these crosses men were nailed
to suffer at the hands of "good".
Most that saw this cruel display
agreed that it must be.
They gathered round and pushed and shoved
for all wanted to see.
And so the sentence was carried out
for men who needed to die.
One cursed, one begged for mercy,
but One looked to the sky.
"Father forgive them..." many heard,
for they know not what they do."
Why would someone say such things?
Who else heard Him? Did you?
Another laughed and shouted a challenge
to He who wore a thorny crown.
"If you indeed are the Son of God
then tell your Father to get you down."
Darkness gathered over that place
with, "It is finished," heard clear.
The ground shook, stones cracked open,
and the "good" left in fear.
In the temple the veil was torn into
but most didn't realize.
The way to God was opened to all
right before their eyes.
It was the beginning and not the end
witnessed in that time and place.
Love was made perfect when God came down
as one of the human race.
Now nothing can halt this mighty power.
Jesus proved it so.
For He rose again at God's command
dealing sin and death the final blow.
