Mixed Emotion

Sat looking at the Christmas tree
as thoughts ran through my mind. Familiar songs were playing, those of the uplifting kind. Soon memories of times gone by took my spirit away. To a place of mixed emotion, where special moments lay. Images though blurred a bit were easily recognized. Some would cause a smile to form, some a tear within the eye. For though time fulfills it's purpose to soften the touch of pain. The emotion that is strongest can stir that sense of loss again. For it is a never ending, never changing force from God above. And once you've known it's warm embrace you forever know His Love.
