To Journey

         To Journey

Blown by winds of time.

Caught by age's constant flow.

With tattered sails and creaking oars.

It's ever onward life must go.

No anchor can the vessel hold.

No sheltered cove to hide away.

The years will come and then they'll go.

Flesh cannot slow nor hold a day.

And so.

The life upon this ever changing,

rising, falling, restless sea.

As sails first billow out to journey.

Must give the helm, oh God, to Thee.

About the Poet
59 and holding. Married to the love of my life for 35 years. We are a Christian family with 3 grown kids and a hard headed chihuahua named Peppy. I enjoy writing poetry and hope it brings a smile or maybe even uplifts a little.
