The Walk
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

The Walk

The walk was not an easy one.
The path no longer clear.
Too much added to the load.
Too much distraction there.
Alone it was impossible.
With sight almost gone.
Another stone, another stumble,
and then a hopeless groan.
For now across the way ahead
a wall stood long and high.
No way around, no way to climb.
A thought, Lord who am I?
Down to the knees in great despair.
Hands then touched the face.
To wipe away heartache's tears.
Reminding then of grace.
And as The Light from Heaven.
Illuminated more and more.
Eyes that were no longer dim.
Saw Jesus is life's door.

About the Poet
59 and holding. Married to the love of my life for 35 years. We are a Christian family with 3 grown kids and a hard headed chihuahua named Peppy. I enjoy writing poetry and hope it brings a smile or maybe even uplifts a little.
