While Mama Sang

While Mama Sings

Sweet and tender. Full of love.
A Christian Lady through and through.
Mama there could never be....
another you.
As a child I saw your faith.
I heard your words of comfort then.
For you always spoke of Jesus.
As Savior, Lord, and Friend.
And even when the hands of time
pushed this child from the nest.
Out into the world unknown
to journey on life's quest.
Kept deep inside a place of memory.
A place only God and I can find.
Wrapped within the love you gave.
Tied by the thread that ever binds.
With trembling hands I look inside.
And slowly brush a tear away.
Then in this place of comfort found.
I close my eyes and pray.
Thank you dear Lord Jesus.
For love, and life, and Her memory.
While Mama sings of Heaven's beauty.
And life that's lived eternally.
