So Rest Assured

The assault started long ago
at the birth of God's Son.
Whispers spread in darkened places,
This must be The One.
Hate then formed it's perfect plan
to stop what had to be.
With flat out lies and truths half told
the evil spread it's misery.
Then it was over, the tomb was sealed,
at last the end had come.
The darkness laughed in triumph.
But wait, God's will can't be undone.
In fear the minions shrank away
from where God's Son had lay.
They bit there lips and ground their teeth
then crawled and slithered away.
For the tomb could never hold Him.
Death cannot withstand His might.
Not one power of the darkness
can even slightly dim His Light.
With flat out lies and truths half told
the assault still rages on.
But Jesus lives, so rest assured,
you will never face the darkness alone.
