           Note To Self

Aching bones and troubled heart.
Eyes that blur too often now.
Is it the years too swiftly passing
that cause the head to bow?
Or could it be understanding
seeping into wordly cares?
That tune the inner self a little,
pointing to who's standing there.
Not behind nor out in front,
but always at the side.
With hands at ready to defend,
to shield, and even hide.
So aching bones and troubled heart,
and eyes that blur to often now.
Know Jesus Is, then tell another,
there ain't no other way no how.

About the Poet
59 and holding. Married to the love of my life for 35 years. We are a Christian family with 3 grown kids and a hard headed chihuahua named Peppy. I enjoy writing poetry and hope it brings a smile or maybe even uplifts a little.
