A Reason

Every birdsong at dawn is
A reason to praise you Lord
Every aroma from every flower
A reason to praise you Lord

Every grain of sand left
At the sea shore
After every tsumani is
A reason to praise you Lord

Every tree top swaying
in the wind
After every storm is
A reason to praise you Lord

For only you can ensure
The day after
You are sole author of
The tomorrow

Dawn is your reality
A reason to praise you Lord

About the Poet
I live in Trinidad of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago; a multi ethnic, multi religious society. I write poetry for the sheer joy of crafting my feelings, my emotions my thoughts. I enjoy the challenge of abstraction in writing haiku. Married to Anthony Cox in 1971; we have a daughter Yanda and a son Khama. I was born in 1950
