"The one who has the bride is the bridgroom, the best man, who stands and listens  for him, and rejoices with great joy at the bridegrooms voice." John 3:29

Soothe my soul,

Low Your Breath gently

On my flower frail soul, and

Plant joy while weeding out

The Blood of Your Son

Reddens my soul's pale gates,

And the joy of Salvation enters

As the sad king devil weeds wither.

Joy! Joy! Joy!

The Voice of Your Son

Silences the sad crowing sounds,

The pecking at the carrion of the past.

Joy! Joy! Joy!

I walk arm in arm with Jesus

As He carols His call of love, for

Love is the feeding harvest of joy,

The feed of the soul sad.

Joy! Joy! Joy!

I walk arm in arm with Jesus

With tears of thanks, birthing waters, and

Not tears of sadness, wasted water, for

Gratitude is the cradle of joy. And

I am deeply thankful

I found Your Voice:

The Voice of the Triune God.

Joy! Joy! Joy!

About the Poet
I am 79 years of age. For the past nine years I have been retired, after forty years, from the field of alcoholism and drug abuse in New York City. I am married and we have two grown sons and two grand-sons. My life changed through a grace-experience in 1967. Writing Christian prayers is a particular interest of mine. This came about by a growing awareness of the spiritual in recovery from addictions. I choose, intellectually and emotionally, to believe the Triune God of the Sared Scriptures as my Healer.
