"And God is able to abound every favor unto you, that in every way, at all times you should abound having all sufficiency for every good work." 2 Corinthians 9:8

Your Love burst forth

And grace swells my soul,

A favor beyond scale, then

Never to be lonely again,

Swallowed by loneliness --

The hard blasphemy. Yes,

Your grace, Your favor --

Wider than the oceans,

Wider than the Earth,

Wider than the Universe,

A wealth waiting; yes,

Your grace, your favor --

Without bar or blemish,

Fearless in forgiveness,

Generous in power; Yes,

Your grace, Your favor,

A quarry deep to marble

My good works,

A foundry sound to forge

My good works; yes,

Your grace, your favor,

Flows full and

Leaves my soul

A settled sea,

A sea of joy.

About the Poet
I am 79 years of age. For the past nine years I have been retired, after forty years, from the field of alcoholism and drug abuse in New York City. I am married and we have two grown sons and two grand-sons. My life changed through a grace-experience in 1967. Writing Christian prayers is a particular interest of mine. This came about by a growing awareness of the spiritual in recovery from addictions. I choose, intellectually and emotionally, to believe the Triune God of the Sared Scriptures as my Healer.
